The disappearance of more than 400 kilograms of original 35mm negative became a turning point in Josep Guirao’s career. After exile and his confrontations with Andorran institutions, he turned to technology in search of a system that could free creators from laboratories, physical media and intermediaries capable of controlling—or even losing—their work.
This episode traces his evolution from photochemical filmmaking to multimedia publishing, 3D networks, decentralised post-production and digital cinema exhibition. His publishing ventures, Blaxxun Technologies Ibérica and Vircas Cine Digital reveal an attempt to transform the entire filmmaking chain: creation, preservation, editing, distribution and projection. It is a story of innovation, financial risk, institutional conflict and ideas developed before the market was ready for them.
